Elected to lead, not to read

Governor Schwarzenegger has had his fair share of successes and failures. Even in the last simpsons'movie, Arnold is depicted as a less than sophisticated governor who claims to have been ''elected to lead, not to 'wreeead'!". In the book, The People's Machine however, readers will find out about some of the most remarkable events in Arnold's career.

You'll find out that his net worth is above $100m and that he is a seasoned fundraiser. You'll also find out how some of the disconnected elements of his life - his past in the army, his background as a bodybuilder - came together and helped him in his personal and career life.

Arnold proved to be a great marketer of himself by leveraging his diverse background and being able to use high visible events like propositions and initiatives to drive the perception that he was a season politician. The book explains that initiatives are extremely visible with the public because they can help pass laws outside the typical channels.

The book relates to the law of perception. In Jack Trout's words: "All that exists in the world of marketing are perceptions in the minds of the customer or prospect. The perception is the reality. Everything else is an illusion".
